Helena Molin Valdés

An experienced leader within the UN system, Helena is since 2013 heading up the Secretariat for the Climate and Clean Air Coalition to Reduce Short-lived Climate Pollutants (CCAC), hosted by the United Nations Environment Program in Paris. She is a former senior executive with the UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR) and a long-time proponent of sustainable development, climate change mitigation and adaption, disaster risk reduction and resilient cities all over the world. She worked early in her professional life on improved bricks production from traditional kilns in Central America, and improved cook-stoves to reduce indoor air pollution and increase energy efficiency. She holds a Master degree in architecture with thesis on development planning and implementation from Lund University, Sweden.
